The Alaskan Buckhannon
The Buckhannon is a full tang drop point, 8 inches overall with a 3 and 1/2 inch blade. The drop point puts steel behind the tip instead of out in front of it, which is why it is the profile most hunters trust for field work. Hard to break, easy to control.
The blade is D3 steel running 1.3 to 2.1 percent carbon and 12 to 14 percent chromium. That composition lets it heat treat up to 58 to 61 HRC, which is the hardest range in the Alaska Series outside of the Damascus blades. It holds an edge through a long day.
The handle is layered hardwood veneers over a 4 and 1/2 inch full tang. The lamination gives it a depth of grain you do not get from a single block of wood, and it stands up to weather better too.
Production on the Alaska Series is capped at 2,500. Every Country Roads knife carries a user care lifetime warranty, non transferable.
