The Alaskan Elkins

The Elkins is the compact one. Six and a half inches overall with a 3 and 1/2 inch clip point blade and only 3 inches of handle and bolster, which means the blade is longer than the grip. That makes it a precise little knife, built for close work rather than heavy chopping.

The blade is 9Cr14MoV surgical steel. High carbon, high chromium, with molybdenum and vanadium added in. That mix gives you real corrosion resistance plus a fine grain that takes a razor edge and comes back to it quickly on a stone. Hardness is 57 to 59 HRC.

The handle is laminated walnut and cherry with a brass bolster. Two woods, two colors, glued and pressed in alternating layers so you get a striped grain that runs the length of the grip. It is the most distinctive handle in the series.

Production on the Alaska Series is capped at 2,500. Every Country Roads knife carries a user care lifetime warranty, non transferable.
