The Alaskan Fairmont
The Fairmont is a full tang clip point at 8.5 inches overall, with a 4 and 1/4 inch blade and 4 and 1/4 inches of handle and bolster. Even balance, no forward heaviness, and a clip point that handles everything from opening a box to dressing a deer.
The blade is D2 tool steel, high carbon with 10 to 13 percent chromium. It is the workhorse steel of the Alaska Series for good reason. Wear resistance is excellent, edge retention is excellent, and the chromium keeps rust at arm’s length. Hardness is 57 to 59 HRC.
Rosewood handle with a polished brass bolster. Brass warms up as it ages and picks up a soft patina that stainless never will. If you want a knife that looks older and better every year, this is the one.
Production on the Alaska Series is capped at 2,500. Every Country Roads knife carries a user care lifetime warranty, non transferable.
