The Alaskan Summerville
The Summerville is a full tang drop point, 8 inches overall with a 3 and 1/2 inch blade and a 4 and 1/2 inch handle. It is the Buckhannon’s twin in profile, dressed in rosewood instead of veneer. Balanced, simple, and about as versatile as a fixed blade gets.
The blade is D3 steel, 1.3 to 2.1 percent carbon with 12 to 14 percent chromium. It hardens to 58 to 61 HRC, which is a genuinely hard blade, and it rewards you with edge retention that outlasts a full day of cutting.
Rosewood handle scales, hand finished. Rosewood darkens with use and oil, so this one will not look the same in five years as it does the day it shows up, and that is the point.
Production on the Alaska Series is capped at 2,500. Every Country Roads knife carries a user care lifetime warranty, non transferable.
