The Alaskan Morgantown
The Morgantown is the working man’s version of the big Damascus drop point. Ten inches overall, 5 inch blade, 5 inch handle, same forged blade as the Charleston and the Huntington but wearing a synthetic handle instead of wood.
The blade is 220 layers of 1095 high carbon and 15N20 nickel carbon, forged and etched so the pattern shows. Hardness sits at 59 to 62 HRC. It is a hard blade that takes a fine edge and does not give it back easily.
The synthetic handle is the reason to pick this one. Wood is beautiful and wood also wants to be babied. Synthetic does not swell, does not crack in the cold, and does not care what you spill on it. Quarter inch Damascus bolster ties it back to the blade.
Production on the Alaska Series is capped at 2,500. Every Country Roads knife carries a user care lifetime warranty, non transferable.
